BSF Charolais At BSF all cattle are Homozygous Polled and have a curve bending profile.

We aim for all cattle to have Birth Weight EBV’s below 0, 400 & 600 day EBV’s over 30 and fat scores all positive. We currently use all AI sires who we have very carefully selected for our preferred traits.

Our LT Stagecoach heifer popped her JMAR Jefferson bull calf this afternoon. She was lying in amongst all the other cows and "plop", out he came. I don't think she even knew he had come out! Seamless work for a first calf heifer. A very long and sleek bull calf. Once all the other heifers had left her alone she had cleaned him up and in less than an hour he was up, pretty much cleaned up and had his first drink. He was dam keen to get up and get his first drink! Funny how instinct tells them what to do and where to go!

Honor S60's JMAR Jefferson bull calf dropped yesterday and he is healthy and active. S60, this bull calf, her twins from last year and her LT Stagecoach heifer from the year before that all gathered off to the side of the paddock together. A family gathering checking that Mum and bub were all ok I imagine! No other cows, just family! And BTW the Stagecoach heifer is due to calve in about one week. We're watching!

First Calf of 2026. A Bull calf by LT Governor 1560 (P). 37kg birth weight and he will continue the homozygous polled curve bender tradition at BSF. Other cows coming in to check out what all the fuss is about! And yes things are pretty dry out here at the moment. Yesterday game us 3.5 mm of rain.
