BSF Charolais At BSF all cattle are Homozygous Polled and have a curve bending profile.

We aim for all cattle to have Birth Weight EBV’s below 0, 400 & 600 day EBV’s over 30 and fat scores all positive. We currently use all AI sires who we have very carefully selected for our preferred traits.

Wagon Train's first calf. A very cute little heifer. Got friendly with the mother when he was only about 11 months old. I was wondered why she wasn't cycling. Calf is low birth weight, Homozygous polled calf and if she's anything like Wagon Train will start putting it on in the next few months.

BSF Wagon Train WO4(P), is about 16 months and has gone in with the girls this week to back up the AI program. Unfortunately round here there hasn't be that much rain and we're a bit light on grass at the moment. Perhaps not as light on as some other places nearby. Anyway, hopefully we picked all the girls up with the AI, but Wagon Train is pretty keen to catch anyone who missed out!

Our LT Stagecoach heifer popped her JMAR Jefferson bull calf this afternoon. She was lying in amongst all the other cows and "plop", out he came. I don't think she even knew he had come out! Seamless work for a first calf heifer. A very long and sleek bull calf. Once all the other heifers had left her alone she had cleaned him up and in less than an hour he was up, pretty much cleaned up and had his first drink. He was dam keen to get up and get his first drink! Funny how instinct tells them what to do and where to go!
