Custom Cattle Halters Quality Leather Show Halters and Rope and Webbing Halters for the discerning Cattle Exhibitor. I started working cattle when I was 11 years old.

I soon learnt the hard way that to get good results you had to have good equipment. So I set about learning the art of rope splicing (thanks to my Dad!!) Later I added Leatherwork to my skills (again thanks to my Dad!!) and what started as a hobby soon grew into a work from home business. Quality Showgear was started when I was just 16. I inherited tools from my Great Grandfather who was also a saddler and my love of leatherwork was born. I continued teaching myself how to make rope and leather show halters for the various teams I managed and showed. I later studied under Robin Yates and Allan Hartley gaining certificates in saddlery repair and harness-making. I further refined my skills under the guidance of Shelley Cole (Shelley Cole Bridles) who brought my work to a whole new level. This culminated with a Standard of Excellence exhibit at the 2014 Sydney Royal Easter Show Craft Section. All my leather products are hand cut and stitched using top grade English Bridle leather sourced directly from the U.K and are fitted out using solid brass or stainless steel buckles, loops and chains. All my rope products are made using marine grade soft polyester Double Braid and Polyethylene Yachting rope made here in Australia. I pride myself on the fact that all my halter designs come from my 35+ years experience of breaking and training cattle for the show and sale ring. I know what works and what doesn't. My designs have been extensively tested to ensure they deliver that quality promise. Let me help you create a distinctive halter for your stud animals and get noticed where it counts!

Thereโ€™s plenty of it heading to Hot Spot on 19 September.

One of the real strengths of a multi-vendor sale is ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐ข๐œ๐ž. Rather than looking at one breeding program or one type of bull, Hot Spot gives buyers the opportunity to compare genetics developed by different breeders, in different production systems across very different parts of Australia - ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž, ๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐๐š๐ฒ.

Whether your priority is growth, carcase quality, calving ease, maternal strength, added frame or simply finding a sound, functional bull to inject more quality into your herd, there is plenty to work through in the 2026 offering.

And the support doesnโ€™t finish when the hammer falls.

Every Hot Spot bull is backed by a ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ-๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ ๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž and our ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐š๐ฅ๐Ÿ ๐๐ฎ๐ฒ-๐๐š๐œ๐ค ๐†๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ž. Thoughtfully prepared for what comes next, each bull is vaccinated against 3 day sickness and tick fever and is pre-treated for ticks and certified tick free and ready to travel.

Thereโ€™s still a little time to have one posted to you before sale day. Simply ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‡๐จ๐ญ ๐’๐ฉ๐จ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐š๐๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ and weโ€™ll get one on its way.

So the new house has been officially christened.
In black dye.
And the workbench.
And the small dye table.
And the bin.
And my feet.
And my hands.
And the back of my arms....

I really shouldn't get out of bed some days ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ

EDIT: HEAVY BLACK LEAD CHAINS โ›“๏ธ ARE NOW IN STOCK!
Its been an eventful 2 weeks in the workshop!! Lots of rope sheep halters, some leather cattle halters, the ducklings ๐Ÿฅ are growing like weeds since they hatched, the cats are loving the outdoors and I got to have a lovely mental health weekend on the Gold Coast and actually got my feet wet!! I also tried to slice off part of a finger ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™„ that has thankfully healed without stitches (this time)๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
It has also been tinged with sadness at the passing of one of my mentors in leatherwork Peter Main. A legend who had a gift like no other for achieving the impossible with leather art....farewell my friend ๐Ÿ˜ข
