Yes — if you brew Oyster Stout like we do.

Cold weather is here, and this 200 L batch of Oyster Stout has our accountant scratching his head. At $24 a dozen for oysters, this is definitely not the cheapest beer we’ve brewed!

Don’t expect a fishy flavour though — this is a rich, fancy stout brewed the way it was centuries ago. The oyster shells add extra hardness to the brewing water, giving the beer a beautifully smooth character.

Basically… we’re turning seafood into beer science. 🍻

Starting the new year with release of Hazy IPA from our experimental set of pots. In high 6%(TBA) it drinks easily but watch out for hot weather and drink plenty of water too. Style: West coast IPA. Enjoy!

Adding juice

Brewing another 200 L batch of Grapefruit IPA.
For this batch, we added fresh grapefruit zest to the whirlpool to capture all those bright, aromatic oils, then followed up with a dose of freshly squeezed juice once fermentation kicked off for a burst of real fruit flavor.

It’s still bubbling away, but already the aroma in the brewery is incredible — citrusy, tropical, and full of promise. We can’t wait to share the finished beer with you soon!

Another LD Xclusive batch of beer is coming out of our small brewhouse. We have used about 15 kg of figs for this brew and a blend of European dark and red malts. So here it is: Fig Belgian Brown Ale, 4.4%, pours reddish-brown with a super creamy head. Rich dark malt flavours dominate the overall impression, while figs add gentle dried fruit sweetness in the background. Smooth, with a big body, yet very sessionable, this ale fits perfectly in this cold spring weather.
