For more than 40 years Peter Dunlop has been associated with the Australian Wine Industry in the supply of Premium Packaging and Wine Barrels. Following on from Peter’s decision to retire from Classic Oak in December, Peter has decided that the appeal of full-time retirement is the way to go, and as of the end of July Peter has also retired from Cpak and moved on to a life of relaxation and the enjoyment of emptying his vast cellar.
Over the years Peter has been a devote servant to the Wine Industry and was instrumental in the development of Stelvin as a safe and cost-effective way to protect wine from cork taint. Screwcaps now dominate the way Australia packages their wine and has been one of the great innovations to the industry that Peter is most proud of.
Peter has mentored many during his time and leaves behind a legacy that is hard to match in the supply chain to the Wine Industry. Peter has many colleagues, friends and competitors that have a healthy respect for the many years of dedication Peter has shown to the Wine Industry, his drive and passion will be sorely missed by all. We wish Peter and his wife Elizabeth all the very best in their retirement.
Peter’s retirement doesn’t bring an end to Cpak as negotiations with new owners are well underway. Continuity of supply for all Cpak products is not at risk and an announcement will be made in the near future with an introduction to the new owners.
We believe the announcement will be seen as a positive by our many customers, as the new management are well known to the Wine Industry and bring many years’ experience in wine packaging.
