Now that’s what we call farm to lunchbox! 🍊🎒

When you grow up on a WA citrus farm, forgetting your school snack isn’t quite the disaster it might be elsewhere. 😅

Fresh mandarins make a pretty handy grab-and-go snack. Naturally sweet, easy to peel and packed with vitamin C, they’re a lunchbox favourite for good reason.

What’s your go-to fruit for the school lunchbox?

WA citrus season isn’t over yet! 🍊

If you’ve been loving local mandarins and oranges this winter, there’s still plenty of fresh WA citrus to enjoy, with later-season varieties now making their way into stores.

For oranges, Washington Navels make way for Late Lanes, while late-season mandarins include Afourers, which you might spot in major supermarkets under names like Delite, Amorette and Tangold. Keep an eye out for Gold Nuggets too! 👀🍊

So while the varieties might be changing, there’s still plenty of fresh WA citrus to pop into lunchboxes, take on weekend adventures, juice or simply enjoy as an easy afternoon snack.

Have you spotted any of these late-season favourites in your local shops yet?

From their farm to your fridge, this is what citrus season looks like for the Eckersley family at Yambellup Estate 🍊💛

Citrus season is the result of months of hard work, care and a genuine passion for growing quality fruit.

Every orange and mandarin is carefully grown, picked and packed before making its way to local supermarkets and homes across the state.

It’s a true family effort, and a reminder that behind every piece of WA citrus is a local grower helping bring fresh fruit to your table.

Ever wondered what goes into growing the citrus you see on supermarket shelves? 🍊

For Richard at Yambellup Estate, citrus season means early mornings, long days and plenty of hard work behind the scenes.

And here’s something most people don’t realise… it takes nearly 12 months to grow each piece of fruit, but just one day to pick and one day to pack.

That’s a whole year of care, patience and dedication to bring fresh WA citrus from the orchard to your local store.

A little kitchen tip from Richard at Yambellup Estate 🍋

Fresh lemons can be a simple way to add flavour to your meals without reaching for extra salt.

A squeeze over roast veggies, seafood, salads or grilled meats can instantly lift a dish while keeping things fresh and simple.

It’s one of those small kitchen swaps that makes a big difference, and when lemons are grown right here in WA, even better!
