At Cakes By Xanthe, we specialise in custom cakes, and truly value giving our customers the freedom to create their perfect cake, right down to the exact flavour combinations.
Each tier of your cake can have its own unique flavour profile. For example, in a multi-tier wedding cake, you might opt for a classic vanilla for one tier and a decadent chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache and salted caramel filling for another. This applies to all celebratory cakes!
ORDERING YOUR CAKE
When placing an order, the only compulsory choice is the cake flavour. Fillings default to the buttercream used on the rest of the cake, and the default buttercream flavour is vanilla. Here’s how to construct your custom flavour profile:
🍰Choose a Cake Flavour: This refers to the flavour of the batter used to bake the cake layers.
🍰Choose a Filling: Fillings go between the cake layers, adding extra complexity and decadence.
🍰Choose a Buttercream Type: My default is classic American Buttercream, but I also offer Swiss Meringue Buttercream.
🍰Choose a Buttercream Flavour: Buttercream can be flavoured in various ways to enhance your chosen cake and filling.
NEED INSPIRATION?
If you have an idea for one part but need help with the others, I’d love to discuss what pairs well with your chosen flavour. For instance, a chocolate mud cake pairs wonderfully with salted caramel sauce or dark chocolate ganache. For matcha, a homemade raspberry compote is a delightful choice!
