This morning on my walk I came across masses of fruit on the ground most likely the detritus of fruit bats and possums feasting.
The cluster fig (Ficus racemosa) is a traditional bush food and medicinal plant heavily utilised by First Nations groups across northern Australia so I never expected to see one in south east Queensland. It doesn't stand in the clear, hidden amongst the weeping lilli pilli and parasol leaf trees that line the wetlands.
