And they are up! Next years ginger shoots reaching for the sky.
Grown in the Sunshine Coast hinterland on the Buchi Farm. This is our 2nd crop of organic ginger and thank goodness all of crop is up - it means we didn’t fluke our first crop and we are legit farmers.

There are not many kombucha companies at our scale that can say they grow the majority of their produce.
We are getting serious about bringing you the full FARM to FERMENT experience.

Spring has definitely sprung on the Buchi Farm! The Feijoa's are just starting to produce the most beautiful fragrant magenta blossoms. Seeing them this morning has us in a frenzy of anticipation and complete awe.

Not to mention the buzz of the bees hard at work pollinating - the magic of nature.

We can't wait for the feijoa season, hopefully you are excited too folks. Delicious Buchi creations coming your way late Feb. It will literally be raining Feijoa's.

🍓 Strawberry and Lime Kombucha—a Buchi Crowd Favourite! 🍓 It has been our most loved seasonal for the past few years.

This year we have seen an epic strawberry season, In fact we have received almost 3 tonne of fresh certified organic straws this year. Can you imagine how much that's it?

We have only the best strawberries from still abundantly coming through our brewery doors.

A lot of love goes into making this sherbet-y drink with every strawberry being hand processed, and then extracted over a 6 week period through our own Buchi way to create that epic flavour you love so much. We even made a song about it 😉 So many hands have all been part of this seasonal.

There is still plenty of strawberry and lime to go around but make sure you get your hands on it before it all runs out!

We get asked this question a lot when talking to customers: The answer is actually quite simple, our response is always the same.
Are there any fermented foods in your diet at the moment?

If your answer is YES - Then your body is already used to the magic of microbes. Drink as much as you feel your body needs. Make sure you listen to your body as it will tell you if you have had enough or if you need to have more!

If your answer is NO - we recommend starting with a small cup about 100ml and see how you feel.

However the key to a microbial rich ecosystem is DIVERSITY!

We are so grateful that now we can compost all our waste from the Buchi brewery to the Roots in Nature farm! 100% certified organic full closed circle loop. Pure Magic.

🌏 Returning our goodness back to Mother Earth! 🌏

In all our waste there is some amazing stuff that goes back into the land! From spent black & green tea, seasonal fruits and vegetables scraps, Lots of Scoby's and of course our beautiful ginger, turmeric and galangal frass grown on our farm. Farmer J is pretty proud of his compost, he also doesn't mind the odd photo.

Once broken down into compost it is the perfect foundation for replenishing our beds on the farm! So we can continue to produce the most beautiful produce for our Buchi products!

We gathered these organic Black Sapote's from Northey St Organic Farmers Market the other week and turned them into a Fruit Shrub! Chocolate Pudding fruit whose tried it?

We are always experimenting weird and wild ways to ferment & Black Sapote Kombucha seems like a great idea, well to us funky freaks anyway - who know you may just get a chocolate kombucha to try at the markets.

Our lucky workshop participants got to try this beautiful shrub at the Market Organics.com.au Kombucha workshop a few weeks ago! We talked lots about all the ways you can use Kombucha in your cooking. Especially how fruit shrubs are a great way to use the Kombucha Vinegar!

We really love what we do! It was a pleasure to host our second workshop at Market Organics.com.au last week! We spent the night talking about Fermenting Springs Harvest and how you can easily improve your gut health at home. We celebrated seasonality, local sourcing and knowing where your food comes from.

We demonstrated - Wild Sodas, Water Kefir, Country Wine. A delicious Red Cabbage Kraut, Beet Kvass and more.

It's been great to get back into workshops, keep a look out for a Buchi workshop announcement very soon.

We love to seeing our Mama's grow and flourish.

We caught Trace admiring this beauty and we had to share her with you!

All our mamas are unique and have grown from older generations of the original scoby Jase (Founder & Ferment mastermind) was gifted by Ian Grub (aka grubby) the president of the local culture club in West End back in 2011!

The fact that all our Kombucha and Kombucha kits are decedents from that first scoby all that time ago is pretty special! This Scoby Lineage will continue to go and go for many more years as we continue to brew delicious Kombucha for you! You can also share that culture at home too.

WE WILL MISS YOU MARC ❤️Have you had the pleasure of meeting our Sunshine Coast Market legend Marc? Well you probably know then that he is one of the kindest happiest humans around. Im sure it’s always a highlight seeing him for your weekly kombucha haul. Marc has been with Buchi in the brewery, on the road seeing customers and most recently SC market legend. Thank you dear brother for sharing the Buchi love with so much integrity, pride and care. We are going to miss you as you make the step into a new adventure with your girls.

Getting back to our ROOTS!! Literally. That’s right we have been growing our own certified organic ginger, galangal and turmeric on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. This last year we have learnt so much about organic farming, ourselves and what feels healthy for our family, what is important to us in business all whilst deepening our connection to the earth.
As of this week we close the loop on our product - frickin amazing!!
We grow, We juice, We compost
There are not many kombucha companies in our country that can say they grow their main inputs.
As I mentioned in our video we are currently putting together an Insta page to document our journey. Keep a look out in the coming weeks. It’s funny! We are slowly converting from city to country learnings.
