When the colour of the wine matches the label! Wine glass staining material? Absolutely! Laithwaites Wine Australia once again ticking all the right boxes seeking this one out! Ulithorne Wines and their Prospera 22’ McLaren Vale Shiraz. Latin for success- this is the definition of success..

The nose kicks things off with ripe plum, blackberry and dark cherry, with a little spice and savoury earthiness sitting underneath.

Rich, juicy dark fruit across the palate and silky, smooth tannins give it plenty of structure without making it feel heavy. See, success! Now, someone fire up the BBQ. 🥩🍷

Happy drinking 🍇🍷😊

Are you a fan of Pinot Grigio, Verdellio or even Fiano. Then, there is a good chance that you’ll be a fan of Pecorino. No, Not the one you grate over your pasta, although the Italian variety, that is grown in popularity in Australian.

👃 What does it smell like? - Highly aromatic Think pears , citrus and white flowers.

👅 What does it taste like? - Predominately dry. Crisp, medium bodied and with a generous fruity mouthfeel due to the natural sugars.

🥘 What can I pair it with? - Fresh seafood screams to be paired with the dryness of this wine. Alternatively, light pasta dishes.

🇦🇺 What are some good Aussie ones? - Primo Estate (SA), De Iuliis Wines Hunter Valley (NSW,) Amadio Wines (SA)

Happy drinking 🍷🍇😊

Crusher Wines and their 2023 La Piccola Strega AKA - Cabinet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Out of Brisbane……. Indeed, no typo there, Brisbane. Crusher Wines are all about creating the unusual, and with this wine, and their selection as a whole they have nailed it. The La Piccola Stregra, named after their late cat, Macchiato is a flavour bomb that blends the three varieties perfectly.

Nose in and I’m getting bell peppers, raspberry, strawberry and dried crushed herbs. Whole berry co-ferment plays wonder on the taste. Very fruit forward, with the black cherry, red plums, blackberry and an every so faint vanilla. Softer tannins due to ageing in French oak, which is nice, really lets the fruit take the spotlight.

Crusher Wines, from what I can tell are all about bringing back the fun to wine, and their 2022, 2023 and just released 2024 vintages are absolutely nailing it.

Happy drinking 🍷🍇😊

Recognisable simplicity. ✅ Quality wines. ✅ Wish I’d bought more. ✅ Must be William Downie.

The 2025 William Downie Tolmie Pinot Noir, out of Yarragon, brings elegance with a little funk on the side.

Nose in, and I’m getting cherry, raspberry and subtle earthy notes. First sip? Silky and fresh, with fine tannins, gentle spice, and a long, vibrant finish that keeps you coming back.

Shout out to Reg Mombassa for the eye-catching artwork proudly on display. This wine sits firmly in the “beautiful inside and out” category. 👌Now… time to stock up.

Happy drinking! 🍷😊🍇

Mrs Walk the Wine has spoken… and this one’s a winner! 🍷👏

The 2023 Two Hands Brave Faces Grenache, Mourvèdre & Shiraz from the Barossa Valley is an absolute crowd-pleaser. Bursting with juicy red and dark berries, hints of spice, and silky smooth tannins, it’s packed with flavour while staying incredibly easy to drink.

Mrs Walk the Wine summed it up perfectly: “Delicious!” And honestly, it’s hard to argue with that. Rich enough to impress the wine lovers, but approachable enough for anyone looking for a great bottle to share.

If you’re after a classic Barossa GMS with plenty of fruit, balance and character, this is one worth adding to your list.

Mrs Walk the Wine Rating: “I’d happily have another glass… or two!” - well she ended up finishing the bottle!

Happy drinking 😊🍇🍷
