After a break for Christmas and New Year we are back with "meet the chef"
Sugarland Tavern Bundaberg was the second pub we got when we first started.
Cory is the head chef and if you haven't been for awhile you should check it out.
Cory has been a chef for 20 years
His favourite meal on the menu?
That's an easy one, the house speciality pork ribs is one of my favourites so meaty and just falls apart
That sounds super delicious 😋
Thank you Sugarland Tavern and Cory for your continued support

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. We can't thank our chef's, business owners, wholesalers, customers who buy our produce every week and especially our staff enough. Being in business is tough but you all make it worth it. Looking forward to 2026 🎄❤️

While we have lost count of how many times we have followed chef's from restaurant to restaurant, only twice have we followed a restaurant to a new location.
Bundaberg Social Club is one of them. Their new location (old Rowers) has some of the best views in Bundy.
Josh (left) and Aaron look after you there.
About Josh
How long have you been a chef? 25years
Favourite meal on menu? Pistachio dukkah crusted lamb rack - how yummy does that sound 😋

We are heading out to Bargara for our next "meet the chef" or in this case chef's
Keeta and Matt look after everyone at Sandhills Sports Club restaurant Ripples.
The club underwent aa major refurb a few years ago and looks pretty spiffy
A little about them:
Head chef Keeta has been in the industry 20years this year.
FAVOURITE DISH ON MENU - she has a couple and they both sound delish. The Apple cranberry salad with candied walnuts and fresh local spinach 😀
And The Australian Humpty Doo Barramundi fillet topped with local cherry tomato salsa and fresh local salad 😋
Matt had been in the industry 10years
FAVOURITE DISH ON MENU - 300G rib fillet cooked blue (my favourite way to eat steak too)

Thanks guys for your support of us and other local farms ♥️

Today we have Debbie from Atrium Cafe. This place is a little gem inside the Friendlies, you don't have to be sick or visiting someone to go there. Their display makes me drool everytime I deliver.
A little about Debbie

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN HOSPITALITY? Have been a chef for 23 years but worked in hospitality since she was 16 (she did tell me how many years that is but I'm not saying 🤣)

IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE THING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Chicken Pad Thai 😋😋

Thank you Debbie and the awesome crew at Atrium Cafe ♥️

Next we have Jim from Olsens Corner FoodWorks. Jim was our first and for a long time our only wholesale customer. I still remember his very first order, he said 12 green oak, Matt asked is that 12 heads and he said no, boxes. Back then that was a huge thing. Now we supply him up to a dozen different lines. As usual we asked him a few questions:

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE FRUIT AND VEGE GAME - 34 years
FAVOURITE VEGETABLE (APART FROM LETTUCE) - rocket
FAVOURITE FRUIT - mangoes and cheeries (lucky they are both coming into season)

Jim and Olsens Corner are huge supporters of local farmers and businesses. Thank you and looking forward to many more years.

Matt and I are doing deliveries for awhile, it's good as we get to catch up with all our amazing chefs and business owners.
To make it a bit more fun we thought we would introduce you all to some of them.
Lindsey (pictured here with Matt and The Metro Hotel Bundaberg manager Amie) was our very first customer almost 10yrs ago. He is one of the very few chefs we deal with who has been at the same place the whole time.
We asked him a few little questions:
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A CHEF? - 25 years
WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU LOVE TO COOK BUT HATE TO EAT? Seafood 🦀
Thank you Lindsey and The Metro Hotel, Bundaberg for supporting local farmers ♥️
