Before most of Adelaide was awake this morning, approximately 40 Hort Connections delegates were on site at the South Australian Produce Market experiencing the fresh produce supply chain in action.

The early morning tour provided visitors with a firsthand look at Australia's largest fresh produce wholesale market in South Australia, showcasing the vital role our growers, wholesalers and market community play in moving fresh fruit and vegetables from farm to plate.

A big thank you to our wholesalers and growers who took the time to welcome guests, share their knowledge and provide an insight into the work that happens behind the scenes each day.

We're proud to showcase the South Australian Produce Market and the people who make it such an important part of the horticulture industry.

Today the South Australian Produce Market was proud to support the launch of the 2026 South Australian citrus season at the Adelaide Central Market. 🍊🍋

It was fantastic to welcome Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Clare Scriven MLC, who joined growers, industry representatives and consumers to celebrate the start of another citrus season and recognise the important contribution the industry makes to South Australia’s economy and regional communities.

The event showcased the quality of this season's crop, connected consumers directly with growers and highlighted the many ways South Australian citrus can be enjoyed, thanks to a cooking demonstration from Pick A Local, Pick SA Brand Ambassador Callum Hann.

With strong collaboration between industry, government and growers, South Australian citrus continues to build a reputation for producing premium fruit for both domestic and international markets.

Congratulations to Citrus SA, Pick a Local, Pick SA! and all growers as the 2026 season gets underway.
