Some beautiful and fresh fruit and veg growing in the garden atm

It’s very enjoyable to be out pulling weeds, pruning and cleaning the area while watching food grow… seeing the colours change, the sizes increase and the aromas of pollen and fruits is very grounding and mindful

Good for the internal and external 🫶🏽🍃

Cooking for Your Cat at Home 🐱🍽️

Keeping this list on the fridge makes home cooking for your cat simple and safe.
Cats are obligate carnivores, so meals should always be protein-first, with plant foods used only in small amounts.

✔️ Stick to plain, cooked foods
✔️ No seasoning, salt, onion or garlic
✔️ Use fruits, vegetables and carbs sparingly
✔️ Remember: balance matters – supplements may be needed for long-term feeding

A little preparation goes a long way in supporting your cat’s health, digestion and wellbeing 💛

When in doubt, keep it simple - and always prioritise protein.

⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT NUTRITION NOTE

Home-cooked meals must include essential nutrients that are not naturally sufficient in food alone, including:
Taurine (critical for heart & eye health)
Calcium (especially if no bones)
Vitamin A (animal-based)
Omega-3 fatty acids
B-Vitamins

👉 Long-term home feeding without supplementation can cause serious health issues.

✔️ Best practice:
Use a vet-approved feline supplement
Or follow a recipe designed by a veterinary nutritionist
Simple recipe attached for your convenience!!

📚📚 EDUCATION TIP 📚📚

CALCIUM
ESSENTIAL FOR STRONG BONES, MUSCLES & NERVOUS SYSTEM SUPPORT

Calcium plays a crucial role in bone strength, muscle contraction and nerve signalling, while also supporting mood stability and long-term brain health. 🦴🧠

🌿 Adults generally need 1,000–1,300 mg of calcium per day, which can be supported through foods like:
Dairy foods (milk, yoghurt, cheese)
Leafy greens (kale, bok choy)
Almonds
Chia seeds
Tofu (calcium-set)
Sardines (with bones)
Fortified plant milks

All nourishing choices to support physical and mental wellbeing. 🌿🧠

Daily intake – approximate values:
1 cup milk provides ~300 mg
¾ cup yoghurt provides ~300 mg
30 g cheese provides ~200 mg
½ cup cooked kale provides ~90 mg
1 tbsp chia seeds provides ~80 mg
20 g almonds provides ~50 mg
100 g calcium-set tofu provides ~350 mg

(These figures are averages and can vary depending on gender, age, life stage and product quality. Vitamin D supports calcium absorption.)

📚📚 EDUCATION TIP 📚📚

IRON ESSENTIAL FOR ENERGY, BRAIN & MOOD SUPPORT

Iron is vital for carrying oxygen to the brain and body, supporting energy levels, concentration and helping reduce fatigue that can impact mood and mental wellbeing.

Adults generally need 8–18 mg of iron per day (higher needs for menstruating women), which can be supported through foods like:
Salmon
Beans & legumes
Skin-on potatoes
Tomatoes
Leafy greens
Seeds (like flaxseed)
Plus vitamin C-rich foods (hello lemons 🍋) to enhance absorption

All nourishing choices to support physical and mental wellbeing. 🌿🧠

Daily intake – approximate values:
100 g salmon provides ~1 mg
½ cup cooked beans provides ~2–3 mg
1 medium skin-on potato provides ~1.8 mg
½ cup tomatoes provides ~0.7 mg
1 tbsp flaxseed oil provides trace amounts (supports absorption & inflammation balance)

That’s near 8mg in one meal 👍

(These figures are averages and can vary depending on gender, age, iron status and food quality. Iron absorption is higher when paired with vitamin C.)

✨ These taste like Mars Bars… but they’re made from real food ✨
⏱️ Made at home in under 30 minutes - no baking, no fancy skills.

Dark chocolate–coated dates, stuffed with three irresistible fillings:
🥜 Almond butter
💪 High-protein peanut butter
🍫 Choc peanut spread
(All Mayvers – nothing artificial, just whole ingredients)

Why these are more than just a treat 👇

🌱 Naturally sweet
Dates provide natural sugars plus fibre which helps slow blood sugar spikes compared to refined sweets.

🧠 Healthy fats for brain & hormone health
Almond and peanut butters deliver mono- and polyunsaturated fats that support brain function, satiety and energy balance.

💪 Protein boost
The high-protein peanut butter helps keep you fuller for longer and supports muscle repair and blood sugar stability.

🍫 Dark chocolate benefits
Rich in antioxidants (flavonoids) that support heart health and reduce inflammation - with far less sugar than milk chocolate.

🚫 No ultra-processed junk
No artificial flavours, emulsifiers or preservatives.... just dates, nuts and quality chocolate.

Perfect for:
✔ Sweet cravings without the crash
✔ A nourishing afternoon pick-me-up
✔ Post-dinner “something sweet”
✔ A balanced treat that actually satisfies

Proof that you don’t need fake food to enjoy real indulgence.
Mars Bar vibes… but your body knows the difference ✨

As we are leaning closer to Christmas we can tend to treat our pets more in line with the foods we are consuming, however…..
We can not forget they can’t say ‘hey my tummy hurts’ or ‘this makes my bowel uncomfortable.

Let’s remember that our pets have dietary requirements so grab a pack of pet friendly snacks or share foods you know are same this festive season.
Let’s be real pets just love the loving whatever it is 🫶🏽

Treat them with love — and safety! 💚

We all love spoiling our furry friends, but not every “people food” is safe for dogs.

Next time you’re reaching for a snack to share, check this list of dog-safe foods….. so you can treat and even cook for your pup with confidence!

🍌 Fresh fruit
🥕 crunchy veggies
🐟 lean proteins
can make tasty, healthy rewards.

👋But remember…. some foods like chocolate, grapes, and onions can be harmful.

💡 Pro tip: Keep portions small and introduce new foods slowly to avoid upset tummies!
