Officially launched in April 2013, Textured Concept Foods smooth puree and mince moist meal items are easy to prepare, easy to eat and easy to swallow. We’ve taken scoops of smooth pureed foods and remoulded each individual food to look like its original form; carrots look like carrots, fish like fish. The food is pre-cooked, snap frozen and presented in user friendly re-sealable packaging, with p

reparation as easy as “Plate,Thaw,Heat and Serve” . We supply the elements of a whole meal in individual frozen vegetable, meat or dessert portions, making it easy to mix and match to create a multitude of meals. Our specially designed recipes use all natural ingredients ensuring your meal tastes as good as it looks, and is good for you. Typically production of smooth puree meals has been an arduous task. Unrecognisable scoops of colour have been the norm, with few ready to eat options on the open market and none that we've found to present pureed food moulded to look like ‘real food’. Our extensive range can cater a full day’s menu from main meals and desserts to morning and afternoon teas. TCF’s range allows those on a texture modified diet to enjoy meals that look and taste like the real thing – because they are the real thing!

The Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards are now in full effect.

Since 1 November 2025, Standard 6, Food and Nutrition, has set a higher bar for what aged care facilities must deliver. This includes safe, nutritious, and genuinely enjoyable meals for every resident, including those on texture modified diets.

For residents living with dysphagia and other swallowing issues, this isn’t just a compliance box to tick. It directly impacts their health outcomes, dignity, and quality of life.

Around 84% of people living with dementia will experience dysphagia at some stage of their illness, that’s difficulty safely swallowing food and drink.

As dementia progresses, the brain’s ability to coordinate the swallowing reflex deteriorates. And for residents with dementia, there’s an added challenge: when meals don’t look familiar or recognisable, they may simply refuse to eat, leading to rapid nutritional decline.

TCF’s moulded meals are shaped to look like real food, helping residents with dementia identify what’s on their plate and feel comfortable and safe eating it.
