“Australia has a bit of a shiraz problem, apparently, with commodity wines hollowing out our reputation. The future is about wines of place. Wines that thrill. Wines like this. Beguiling in its perfume, with warm spice and blue/purple floral notes billowing over blueberry, boysenberry, black cherry, freshly ground fruity coffee, a faint crack of twigs and autumn leaves in the background, along with a rocky mineral presence. And then the palate, with a supple textural flow, a gracious ease, corralled by such fine but complex tannins and measured yet fresh acidity.
