* Sold**

I have some off season barnevelder and cream legbar eggs available for $30 if anyone is looking to accommodate a broody hen or to incubate.

Both breeds can be sexed on hatching so they are great for backyards that can't keep roosters.

I thought the Guinea fowl were interested in what I was doing to their garden, but I think it was more the lack of food in the ducks bowl that was causing the fuss 😬

Our 4 remaining guinea from this seasons hatch aren't so little anymore.

It has been a lovely experience watching them grow and interact with the adults and goats.

The adults have been very protective, unfortunately not from the high flying predators that arrived to pick them off one by one.

Earlier this year I moved on my Light Sussex flock to make room for a new breed.

These little guys are Quamby chickens which are a relatively new Tassie breed, for both egg laying and meat consumption.

Apparently I have to wait 10-11 months for them to be processed, but 3 months might be enough depending on how much space and feed they take up.

Let's hope for a nice ratio of roosters/hens out of these 6 little ones.

From 30 babies we are down to just 5.

Unfortunately they dont make good mums when they either nest on the ground, nest in a tree, or simply leave their keets behind 😕

It has been a lovely experience to watch them though, as sad as nature is.

Today out of the blue we realised we a have a 2nd hatch of guinea keets.

We have no idea where they made their nest, but they have done a wonderful job. A rough count suggests 18, they are so quick moving 💕

We even had to go find Lavender mumma to confirm 💯

Excellent season for these guys, let's hope they all make it up in to the tree and dont try and play with the doggos 😀
