💜 Charity Lots 💜

The beef is back again, and could be yours to take home! 🥩

It’s become a special tradition to auction off some top shelf beef at the conclusion of our sale, raising funds for the Zara’s Day charities ✨

This year we have proudly donated three quality lots:

🥩 Diamantina Angus Striploin – MB 4+
(2 lots, approx. 5.5kg each)

🥩 Diamantina Grass Fed Rib Fillet – MB 2
(1 lot, approx. 4.5kg)

The beef will be available for the winning bidders to take home on sale day, with bidding also available online via StockLive (Reasonable delivery options can be discussed after the sale).

All funds raised will be donated to the nominated Zara’s Day charities — causes very close to our hearts: The Steve Waugh Foundation and the Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section 💜

We have sourced this premium beef from Stanbroke, along with the beef that will feature in tomorrow’s gourmet lunch and canapés prepared by The Baking Asylum.

This year there’s a delicious new addition to the lunch menu, alongside an old favourite — both are sure not to disappoint! 👌

See you tomorrow! 🤗

Seeing triple! 🤩

Meet one very special mum… ❤️🐮🐮🐮

In all our years breeding cattle, we’ve never witnessed anything like this — and quite possibly never will again.

On 22nd July, this Angus cow gave birth around two and a half weeks earlier than expected to a 25kg bull calf. We thought his lighter birthweight was explained by his early arrival. Little did we know, the story was only just beginning.

We later realised one calf had become three, after she gave birth to two heifer calves (24kg and 26kg). It was a special sight to see her calmly feeding and mothering all three.

DNA testing will provide absolute certainty, but all signs point to these three calves being hers — and they really are like peas in a pod.

She had previously been pregnancy tested carrying multiple calves, and after the first calf was born, she remained in the paddock on her own while we continued mustering the rest of the mob. Since then, there have been no other cattle with her, and she’s mothering all three calves equally well.

After speaking with several vets, it appears we’ve experienced an incredibly rare triplet birth, made even more remarkable by all three calves being born alive, healthy, and successfully mothered by the one cow.

These three special calves are by Dunoon Sunstone, and despite their unique circumstances, all are thriving while this beautiful Angus cow is doing an incredible job 👌

Have you ever seen or heard of triplets in cattle?
