WOOHOO.
My heartfelt congratulations to Jimmy, Michelle and Halle Moir of Bonnie Vale Poll Herefords.
Results from Wingham Beef Week (one of the states leading educational and beef quality competitions) are out and I couldn't be more excited for these Poll Herefords breeders.
Those ribbons speak loudest of the meat quality goals the Moirs have been focused on for many years which included the purchase of an Onward Murray Greys sire, Onward Pilot, about 6 years ago to use over a portion of their Poll Hereford herd.
Let's look at the results.
*UNLED HEAVY MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION STEER. A MG sired Grey Baldie. (MG X Poll Her)
*UNLED HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL MSA INDEX of 68.57. (MSA index's are a recognised Grading system and measure of eating quality of beef cuts). Also a Grey Baldie.
*HIGHEST MSA INDEX PEN OF 5 with an average score of 66.88. That score ranks in the TOP 1% OF THE NATION. The pen of 5 consisted of 4 Grey Baldies sired by Onward Pilot and 1 purebred Poll Hereford.
What a fabulous result.
So many hashtags required.
A round of applause heading your way Jimmy, Michelle and Halle. 👏👏💪👊🏆🏆🏆
