We’re here at Hampton Oval until 12 noon and while it’s a little windy, it’s still a beautiful Dampier morning to get out and enjoy your community.

Come down and enjoy a relaxed morning with:

🎈 Bouncy castles for the kids
🛍️ A fantastic range of local stallholders
🧘 Morning yoga
🎨 And keeping the creative weekend vibe rolling, a celebration of art in all its forms — from handmade creations and local makers to movement, colour and community connection.

Once you’ve finished at the markets, take a short stroll over to the Dampier Community Hub and wander through the Dampier Art Exhibition. There are some truly amazing pieces on display, and it’s the perfect way to top off your morning and soak up even more local creativity.

💎 The wait is over — the Dampier Art Exhibition opens today! 🎨

Today marks the official opening day of the 2026 Dampier Art Awards Exhibition – Diamond in the Rough, and we’re so excited to share this year’s incredible collection with the community.

There are some truly amazing pieces on display, showcasing the creativity, talent and passion of artists from across Dampier, Karratha and the wider region. The quality and diversity of work this year is something really special.

If you’re looking for something unique, there are also a number of beautiful artworks still available for purchase — the perfect chance to support local artists and take home an original piece.

Come down, have a wander, take it all in and celebrate the arts with us.

💎 Can you spare an hour or two?

The Dampier Art Awards Exhibition doesn’t end on Opening Night — once the celebrations are over, the exhibition remains open for the community to come through, enjoy the incredible artwork, and support our talented local and regional artists.

To help make that possible, we’re looking for a few friendly volunteers to help us keep the exhibition open during viewing times.

The role is simple:
✨ Welcome visitors
✨ Keep the exhibition open during your time slot
✨ Record visitor numbers
✨ Be a friendly face in the space

No experience needed — just a little time and community spirit 💛

Even a small time slot can make a big difference and helps us continue creating opportunities for artists and keeping community arts alive in Dampier.

After our last markets were postponed due to TC Narelle, we’re so excited to be bringing them back to you Sunday 3 May 💛

Join us at Hampton Oval, Dampier from 9:00am – 12 noon for a relaxed morning by the coast 🌊

Come down, grab a coffee, enjoy some brekkie, and have a wander through our fantastic range of local stalls. It’s the perfect way to ease into your weekend and reconnect with the community.

We know the past few weeks have been busy—life, work, school holidays… it all adds up. If your piece isn’t quite where you wanted it to be, or you’ve been feeling a little behind, please don’t stress.

💎 It’s not too late.

We’ve extended entries for the Dampier Art Awards until 24 April, giving you that little bit of extra time to finish, refine, or simply take the leap and submit what you have.

Sometimes the most powerful pieces are the ones that aren’t perfect—and that’s exactly what Diamond in the Rough is all about.

👉 All artwork must be dropped off to the DCA office before 24 April

We’d truly love to see your work be part of this year’s exhibition—don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
