The Workshops:
*will run on Mondays between 12-3pm.
*will support up to five people with a disability or mental health illness, all of which will have a background in art making and can demonstrate an independent work ethic and artistic flare
*are being run from the main campus of The University of Sydney in the RD Watt Building - a space usually catering for drawing classes held by the Faculty of
Architecture, Design & Planning.
*will assume an informal dynamic between teaching volunteers and participants, with the role of professional artists being that of a mentor: offering guidance and assistance in the art making of those inside the program
*will have art materials such as paints, pastels, paper and canvas provided by 'Enactus The University of Sydney'
*are likely to be publicised through local newspapers and publications of The University of Sydney. The Exhibition
*will take place at Verge Gallery in April 2014.
*will exhibit works produced during the workshop program
*will create commercial opportunities for the participants of the workshop program by which they can expose their work, engage the community, and lure funds for the benefit of extending their involvement in the program and their own personal development as artists.
