Very thick fog this morning. Here is the one of my favourite birds, Butcherbird. From this small body, I don’t know how they can sing this loud and beautifully. They sing differently depends on season.

It is an absolutely brilliant exhibition, and I am delighted to be involved in the opening.

Congratulations, Simon Reece, on "Muscle" — a thoughtful and deeply engaging exhibition that speaks so beautifully to place, history and connection. I am honoured to be serving the sake I selected for the opening and to celebrate this wonderful achievement with Simon and our community.

I hope many people will take the opportunity to visit this remarkable exhibition.

There’s a story held in this land – in water and clay, past and present.

Muscle, an exhibition by Artist in Residence Simon Reece, responds to the landscapes and histories of Muswellbrook. Through ceramics, photography and found industrial materials, Reece explores the relationship between industry, environment and place.

References to freshwater mussels, believed to have inspired the early name “Muscle Brook”, connect the works to local waterways and histories of habitation. Clay sourced from nearby mine sites, alongside mining imagery, reflects on the ways the land continues to carry traces of ecological, industrial and cultural change.

A bit about Muku the White Swiss Shepherd who is one of the Wine Dogs. She didn’t meet any of customers today, it was crowded and she was calm in the office. (Of course banging the door few times telling us to let her out). See this… I was cleaning up glasses and she stayed outside of the kitchen still, didn’t move even I was passing a few cm away from her nose so many times. Trust and love. We love her so much 💖

There is so much to update, and I’ll share everything slowly over the next few weeks.

It was such an incredible trip to Japan — meeting customers, chefs, sommeliers, bottle shops, and wine bars in Osaka and Kyoto, as well as joining the IWC Sake judging in Saijo, Hiroshima.

Serious work will commence from this afternoon, but had a bit of fun and learning culture in Saijo Hiroshima with judges, Toji and Kuramoto last night. You really have to visit to know that area.
来てみないと本当の事はわからない！日本の文化は素晴らしい。本日午後からIWC Sakeのイベントが始まります。昨夜は早く着いていたジャッジ達と楽しく過ごしました。
