“But what if nobody buys it?”
I reckon this is one of the biggest fears sitting underneath almost every conversation I have with someone considering becoming a Primalista.
Because making the food is one thing.
Putting yourself out there and asking people to PAY for something you’ve made feels very different.
Which is why I loved seeing this update from one of our Primalistas recently in our Facebook Group:
“I’m up and running with my fortnightly markets. Getting steady repeat customers and new ones as well.”
That’s the bit.
Repeat customers.
Because when somebody buys from you once, that’s lovely.
When they come back and buy again, that tells you:
Yep. I made something people genuinely want.
And you don’t necessarily need to build some giant food empire.
Maybe you want to bake from home.
Sell at a local farmers’ or community market.
Meet people.
Become known in your area.
Have customers who know your name and come looking for you every fortnight.
And earn some money doing something you actually enjoy.
One woman I spoke to recently said that after a year, she’d feel proud if she had happy customers, repeat business and knew she’d created something that genuinely benefited people.
I think that’s a really good definition of success.
