Back once again with the ill behaviour. This seemed to me to be KFCs response to the recent Red Rooters Parmi promotion. Felt like they needed to cash in on the gravy train that is the chicken Parmi. KFC specialising in fried chicken obviously gives them an advantage over other fast food outlets, because a chicken Parmi generally starts with a piece of fried chicken. And a KFC tendy is delicious, and they have gravy. The tendy in this burger wasn’t too anemic either. The KFC research laboratory has decided to go a little rogue with their choice of cheese on this promo, using 2x deep fried “mozzarella”sticks. Outrageous. The first few bites of the mozz sticks were piping hot, with an oozy (cheap) cheese like substance. Paired with the crumb, this exceeded my expectations initially. Unfortunately as soon as this cools down, the cheese and crumb become a goopy, sloppy mess. Not very nice to handle or eat after the initial few bites. The “nap” sauce used on this was the sweetest I’ve ever experienced. It was closer to a sweet chilli sauce than a nap sauce. Weird flex. The “bacon” was also heinous. I’m not sure what meat this is made out of, but the flavor, texture, quality, all of it, reminded me of dog s**t wrapped in cat s**t. I’d leave it out altogether. The quality of the chicken and the innovation of the cheese were the things I liked about this burger over other fast food Parmis. Now I also tried the Parmi double from the secret menu. Such a diabolical creation from KFC. I think I liked the Parmi double better than the Parmi burger. Without a stodgy bun, old lettuce, and more chicken, this actually was a good rendition of a portable, hand-held Parmi. If you want something that resembles the conception of a Parmi, I’d have to choose the Parmi double. It’s the best attempt from a fast food joint so far. Parmi burger combo: $15.45. 5.4. Parmi double combo: $15.95. 6.2. KFC, Australia.
