What a storm season it's been.
We lost around 40 acres of lucerne — only managed to get one cut off before the rain set in. After that, it just kept coming. Watching a good crop struggle and get taken over by weeds while you're stuck waiting for the skies to clear really tests your patience and mindset.

Despite the challenges, we've been working around storms and cyclones to get seed back in the ground before the end of April. For a while, it felt impossible — every time it dried out just enough to start working, the rain would return.

But we finally got a break. Over the long weekend, we successfully planted 45 acres of lucerne and 22 acres of oats — timed perfectly, with 20mm of rain falling yesterday, right after everything went in.

We should have lucerne available end of June. However we still have plenty of prime Rhodes available.

Finally some dry weather and now were turning some dirt.

NEW LUCERNE DUE THIS APRIL!

We got another cut of Rhodes grass done on Christmas eve, so we have about 500 bales in stock. Price has been cut to $10 inc gst, so get in and stock up before winter prices!

The Lucerne blocks are having a doing it tough through all the wet weather. Depending on the next rain we have coming it is possible that we won't have lucerne available untill next season from the new blocks we are currently working on. Hard times for lucerne growing however it is a great season for Rhodes!
