CALLING ALL STORYTELLERS, HOME COOKS & COMMUNITY GROUPS!

Food has always been more than just a meal, it’s a story, a tradition, and a way to connect. As part of our Home, Heart, and Heritage project, we’re exploring the rich cultural diversity of the Mackay region through food, art, and storytelling. And we need YOU!

Do you or your family have a treasured recipe with a special story behind it? Does your community or cultural group come together to cook, share, and celebrate? We’d love to hear about the traditions, flavours, and memories that make your food special.

This community-driven project, supported by Mackay Regional Council and RADF, will highlight the way food connects us all, while also exploring the biodiversity of our region. We are in the concept development stage and gathering stories that could shape a future docuseries!

Big news. We’re thrilled to share that Home, Heart, and Heritage is on its way, thanks to the support of Mackay Regional Council and RADF and coordinated by One Hungry Mumma

This project will honor the rich cultural diversity of our region through food, art, and storytelling, celebrating the flavours, traditions, and histories that make our community so unique.

Over the next 12 months, we’ll be working alongside community members, filmmakers, artists, and home cooks to map out a docuseries that truly captures our region's biodiversity and cultural vibrancy.
