8/10
π£ Overall a massive fan of Alibi's products. I asked the brewer to select the 4 he thought were most representative, and while the scores cover a very wide range (5 to 9 out of 10), even the b**rs that were less to my liking were undeniably unique. Favorite was by far the 7 Fjres Hot Honey Pilsner. Scroll for the individual ratings β‘οΈ
π»: 7 Fires Hot Honey Pilsnet
9/10
π£ One of the best b**rs I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Coming in at 4.6% abv but making you want it like a cold glass of water on a hot summer day, it tastes like a jar of ground chili smells, and is slightly spicy upon impact, this quickly dissipates to leave room for a honey-like aftertaste.
π»: Ruru Hazy Pale Ale
7/10
π£ A good pale ale, although a bit sweet to go any higher. Usual cacophony quantity of citrus and mangoes going on. Nothing will ever come close to the high of tasting the 7 fires earlier, but it does what it can to ger there.
π»: Red Shed Red West Coast IPA
8/10
π£ Tastes caramelised, hint of grapefruit, and possibly pine peeking through this IPAs 6.2% punch. For those in the know, the finish reminds me a bit of the Swedish candy "Bilar" minus the sweetness. I wouldn't know where to place it, but honestly paprika wasn't out of the question for me in profiling it. Lots going on, a very good b**r. For some reason it has a lactose warning- don't ask why.
π»: Chocolate Stout
5/10
π£ All good things come to an end. And for me that good thing ended on the 3rd of 4 b**rs. While not my favorite genre, I firmly believe stout has a time and place in life. This one specifically... might not. In Alibi fashion (as far as I know, I've known them for 20 minutes) it's characteristic and unreplicable, but maybe that's for the best. I think it boils down to too much chocolate, it overpowers the rest.
