What do our home educated kids do whilst we’re baking?

They help us carry bags, clean the kitchen and set up and then they’re free to do what they want.

Our kids have a bench to themselves in the kitchen and they bring a bag full of things they want to do.

Usually it’s drawing, reading, playing pokemon, colouring or some project they’re working on.

They also go down to the library to choose some books and play with lego. If no one is upstairs sometimes they run around.

Also they eat lots of snacks! 😂

It’s important to us as a family to be together as much as possible and we’re so grateful to have found a way to do that 💕

What are your honest thoughts on this?

There’s a lot of AI created images out there at the moment and people seem to be either loving them or loathing them.

Where do you stand?

Personally we think that they look really fancy, but it’s just not us and a lot of them look very similar.

We don’t want our posts to look like everyone else’s, we prefer to use our own photos and words.

Also we don’t want our products to be advertised as being perfect, because they’re not. They’re made by hand and each one is unique.

We want to show real photos so you know what you’re getting - we’ve all seen ads promoting delicious looking meals and then felt disappointed when the real thing looks nothing like it!

No judgement on anyone that does use these AI images, everyone has to make the best decision for them and their business, but we have decided that we won’t be using them.

We would like to get some better product photos though, so if there’s a local photographer that wants to work with us, please send us a message 💕

We decide on what to make on Thursdays, so now is the time to get your pre-orders in!

You can order whatever you’d like (including our new Biscoff Cupcake) and either:

- pick it up at Torquay Farmer’s Market on Saturday between 8:30am-1pm
- have it delivered to your home or workplace for only $5 (minimum spend $20)
- pick it up from Bellarine Village Shopping Centre in Newcomb (message us to arrange this)

Delivery is only available in Geelong - you’ll find more information on our website on which areas we service.

Please note - items are baked on Fridays and delivered on Friday and Saturday afternoon, unless other arrangements are made.

You can still order later in the week, but that will have to come out of our market stock and we may not be able to fulfil your order.

Any issues or questions just ask and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

We do not offer postage.

If you purchased one of our new Biscoff Cupcakes this weekend we’d love to know what you thought 💕

Jason said that he thinks it’s the best thing we’ve made so far.

Oliver said it’s really yummy, really good, but really filling.

Jensen said it was really yummy and the flavour was perfect.

I’m not a huge Biscoff fan, but I really enjoyed the texture and the flavours. I think it’s really filling though, so half is enough for me!

Cupcakes are the item that sells the best at the market so that is why we created a new flavour instead of focusing on creating a whole new product.

There are lots of things we want to try, but we will be doing it one step at a time to hopefully avoid burning out again 🫩

Interactions/Comments: (as accurate as we can remember them - sorry if we missed anyone)

A gluten free customer bought fudge and said everything looks amazing.

Two nearby stallholders bought from us.

A lovely couple came from Melbourne to buy from us again.

Some of regulars came and bought their favourites.

Summary:

The weather started off okay, but then we were hit with strong wind and heavy rain.

We had only minimal items out and we both had to hold onto things and constantly try and keep things dry.

A few of our boxes and napkins got wet, everything on the ground got soaked and some items blew onto the ground so it was pretty stressful.

We had no major incidents as we recently bought some extra weights which made our marquee more secure.

However we saw other marquees blowing around, other stallholders lost some stock and the pie guy’s warmer ended up smashing!

Some stallholders didn’t show up, some left halfway and we all started packing up around 12:20pm when the wind started picking up again.

Unfortunately sales were down again and we had lots left over at the end of the market.

We also only had the one last minute pre-order for the Father’s Day weekend - for special occasions we usually get a few more orders than usual, but this didn’t happen.

Luckily we were able to sell some items afterwards and had a couple of deliveries.

Thank you to everyone that came, it was great to see you and we appreciate it so much especially braving the wild weather. Thank you to those of you who ordered before and after the market 💕
