10–12 month old Bulls showing excellent weight for age and plenty of potential.

These young bulls have been developed on a balanced maintenance ration over the past couple of months. This approach supports steady growth and allows them to express their phenotype traits without pushing them too hard too early.

We’ve had good results with yearlings prepared this way and long-term durability.

We currently have a selection of these bulls available for sale.

Pregnancy testing, weaning all heifer / steer calves and moving cattle around blocks this week. The young first calvers pregnancy rates were lower than average but reflective of the season. Good to see 100% in calf rate for all cows S drop and older. Wednesday was a bit hot in Gingin (42 degrees) for a busy day of cattle yard work but man and beast push through!

A snap shot of the first three groups of progeny from one of our main stud sires Hilston Ramses R1 (PDGR1). His pedigree contains very prominent Angus cows from WA herds which we feel is clearly breeding through into his progeny and with it bringing some quality bloodlines into the Red Angus herd. The most mature group of offspring from this sire are a line of our T drop 1st calvers which are doing an excellent job on their calves while still developing / maturing themselves nicely. Most importantly R1 is producing a consistent type which do the basics well. Red Angus Society of Australia
