Well, she was a spicy one today! 🥵

We reached 47c this afternoon and the cattle handled it so well!

As you can see they love the sprinkler set up…..

We had all 9 floofas in the yards this morning to get their name tags, nlis tags, tsu samples, weights and their vaccinations!

A big morning for them but now we can finally tell them apart 🙈

It’s a girl!

Introducing…..

Mòrag Crùn of Hoyles Plains

Sire: Montgomery Muir of Sea Crest (9562)
Dam: Tilly of Tarwin Springs (10034)

This beautiful girl is the last of our 2025 calves. The only one to arrive after dark and be kept secret for almost 24 hours!
We chose the name Mòrag as a namesake to Tilly’s best friend, our neighbour Sarah. Every weekend Sarah pays her ‘Tilly Tax’ which is a bag of carrots. Mumma Tils absolutely loves her visits from Sarah.
Coincidentally, Sarah was also the first one to spot Mòrag in the maternity pen.

The name Mòrag is the Scottish equivalent of Sarah ❤️

It’s a girl!

Ruadh Ochre Crùn of Hoyles Plains

What a week this girl (and me) has had!
Mumma Orla overachieved in the milk department and got too big for Ochre to suckle from. We’ve been milking Orla and then bottle feeding little miss since Friday morning when I found her not looking too great!
It’s taken a lot of love, care and determination from mumma and myself and this wee girl is now thriving and I couldn’t be more proud of them.
Hopefully we can get this girl to latch within the next week or so once her mummas udder has lessened!

Got the new mechanics on the job! 🔧

The 3 little floofs were super interested in seeing Little Red (our tractor) up close!

They thought they’d just give it the once over and make sure everything is clean and can continue to bring the moo chew!
