In troubled times there are still so many delights to be found in the garden. Along with our salads, I picked this beautiful bunch of Peace roses to bring up to the house. They open yellow and then turn pink.
Over the last few days, we've been preparing the vegetable garden beds for our winter crop. It seems that more varieties have survived our Summer than we imagined. What a surprise it was to find beans flowering...they must have germinated from plants I abandoned last year. There's heaps of basil too, so it looks like I'll be making Pesto soon..Our oppressive summer humidity sends me indoors from December, except when the rain temporarily cools things down.
Well it has been very quiet here lately as we have closed our business until this dreadful pandemic is brought under control. Graham and I are keeping busy by attending to the many maintenance jobs that we have been putting off. I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy. Here is a song to add a little cheer to your day.
