The Sunlight Kitchen is an initiative of Friends of Refugee Communities (TAS) and provides work experience and an opportunity to practice English for women from a refugee background living in Hobart. The Sunlight Kitchen is in the Old School Room, Building 1831

The Community Kitchen Project continues tomorrow with Eritrean food cooked by the wonderful Mama Abebea!

With coffees continuing from 9am, and kid sized meals for $10.
This week's menu includes:
πŸ—Zigni Derho - spicy chicken
🍠Duba - spicy pumpkin
β˜•πŸ«šAnd some particularly awesome Eritrean coffee with ginger!

🍚 All served with rice and yoghurt

We loved all your suggestions over the last few weeks, and we felt this one really represented who are.

WE'RE BACK!

We're making some changes this year, including a new name, but don't be alarmed, it's still us! When you come and get a delicious lunch there'll be an opportunity to help us brainstorm.

Come and enjoy the Friday afternoon sunlight in the Kickstart Arts courtyard with a meal cooked by some fabulous women from refugee backgrounds. That's the heart of it, and that's never going to change.

A bouquet of radishes from the Sunlight Garden today. The Garden is operated by the Afghan Hazara Community and has been running for nearly three years now. So great to see all the lovely produce coming out of the garden today despite the challenging weather conditions this year.
