It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hartmut Scharf, founder and mentor of Heidi Wagyu. Hartmut started the farm after the passing of his beloved wife Heidi Scharf six years ago with the vision to provide the best quality Wagyu beef locally and create food sustainability for the future.
He will be greatly missed and his vision will live on.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Hartmut Scharf, affectionately known to many as “Mr Scharf” or simply “Otto.”

Hartmut’s vision, dedication, and kindness helped shape Otto’s Fresh Food Market into what it is today. He touched the lives of countless staff, customers, and members of our community, and his legacy will continue to live on through the people and place he loved so dearly.

On behalf of the Scharf & Peel families; we extend our heartfelt thanks for the love, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Mr Scharf. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. 🕊️🤍
