Probably wouldn’t notice the taste is a bit ”off” if you have an Awesome Water filter water 💦…

💧 Due to the change of season and water temperature in the Pioneer River, some residents may notice an earthy taste or smell of the water supply.

💦 Our water supply is still meeting the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, however, we are working hard to return it to the best tasting water in Queensland.

👷 Crews are responding by flushing council water mains in targeted areas and will continue to monitor and adjust their processes at the Nebo Road Water Treatment Plant until the taste is restored.

Council thanks residents for their understanding.

Still number 1 🥇Our 💧 is still the best tasting tap water in Queensland. Water from our Marian Water Treatment Plant won the title of best tasting water in Queensland at the QLD Annual Water Directorate Forum yesterday. There were samples from all across South East Queensland and Far North Queensland. Mackay has won the title three out of the last four years with water from the Marian WTP going on to win the Australian title in 2019 and named second best in the world last year.
