To our customers in the Ooralea, Cuttersfield and wider Mackay community,
Over the last 28 years you have shown tremendous support for our business and for that we can’t thank-you enough. In that time we have formed amazing friendships and now think of you as extended family.
In saying this, the time has come for the Vella family to pursue other endeavors. This coming week is the start of that, with the transition of the business to new owners.
In order to facilitate this transition Vella’s Foodstore will be closing at 2pm on Monday the 19th of July for stocktake.
It will resume normal trading hours on Tuesday the 20th of July, opening for business from 4:45am, under new ownership.
We hope that you join us in welcoming the new owners, Mahesh and Ramesh, to our community and continue to show them the support you have shown us over the last three decades. I will continue to work with them and honor all your catering requirements as usual.

Thank you for the wonderful catering at the St Francis Xavier School Mothers Day morning tea after Mass today, the food was 10/10, presented lovely and very fresh. There were many comments on how great the food was - all of it. 👏👏
Thank you to Kim and Chris Vella for donating beautiful sandwiches to the workers at the fundraiser today to raise funds for the Aussie Helpers. We raised $2331.10 for the aussie helpers today. Hopefully that should buy some hay for the farmers.
