๐ŸŒŸ Support a Rising Star: Joshua Payne! ๐Ÿ‰ ๐ŸŒŸ

Hello, wonderful community! We hope this message finds you well. Weโ€™re thrilled to introduce an incredible opportunity to support a young athlete with immense talent and determinationโ€”Joshua Payne, a dedicated 15-year-old who has been selected for the Rugby Pathways Wolves 2026 Fiji Tour!

๐ŸŒ Joshuaโ€™s journey is truly inspiring. After moving to Coonabarabran and playing for the Unicorns in 2022, he faced challenges that brought his family to the Maitland area. He showcased his skills while representing teams like the West Maitland and Kurri Kurri Bulldogs. Currently, he plays for the West Newcastle Rosellas under-16s and has achieved remarkable feats, including competing with the under-16s Koori team at the Pasifika Cup , Battle of the countries2026 and many other competitions with the Newcastle All Blacks in 2025

๐ŸŒฑ Standing at an impressive 6ft 5, Joshua trains tirelessly with dreams of making it to the NRL. This Fiji tour is a crucial milestone on his path, alongside an upcoming rugby 7s tour to the Cook Islands.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Weโ€™re seeking generous sponsors to help make this dream a reality! Attached is a list of sponsorship options, starting at just $300 for logo placements, tagged posts celebrating Joshuaโ€™s journey, and a spot on his training or game uniforms. Plus, contributions are tax-deductible through our registration with the Australian Sports Foundation!

Your support could make a profound impact on Joshua future in rugby. If sponsorship isnโ€™t feasible at the moment, any support to help raise funds for his trip would be greatly appreciated.

๐Ÿ’– Thank you for considering this request! Your encouragement would mean the world to Joshua! ๐Ÿ†

Today marks 18 years since the National Apology to the Stolen Generations, delivered in Federal Parliament in 2008.

Between 1910 and the 1970s, it is estimated that as many as one in three Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were forcibly removed from their families under government assimilation policies. Children were taken into institutions or placed with nonโ€‘Indigenous families, causing deep and ongoing trauma that continues to impact First Nations communities today.

The National Apology, delivered by then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, was a watershed moment for reconciliation and truthโ€‘telling in Australia. As noted by Reconciliation Australia CEO, Karen Mundine, the Apology, alongside Prime Minister Paul Keatingโ€™s 1992 Redfern Speech, marked a critical acknowledgement of the grief and trauma caused by colonial and government policies, including the forced removal of children.

This day is a time to pause and remember โ€” to honour the Stolen Generations, the children taken from their families, the parents and carers who never stopped searching, and the communities who continue to live with the legacy of these injustices.

While the National Apology was a crucial and meaningful step, we acknowledge that the work towards healing, justice and reconciliation is far from over.
