Tom Morgan, Lyndon McLeod and Chris Barnes asked local wineries to promote the show. In 2026 we celebrate our 36th year and the public is welcome to attend the awards & luncheon Tom Morgan and Lyndon McLeod after discussions with Chris Barnes called on all the small wineries to promote the show. In those days the only participants were those vineyards who grew and crushed 100 tonnes. Hunter Valley

Boutique Winemakers Show have between 65–80 vineyards showing and this year 2015, will be our 27th show, with the judging taking place in September. Keith Tulloch is the Chief Judge, taking over Ray Healey in 2008. The show is blatantly a Hunter Show with Judges of the calibre of Andrew Spinaze, Phil Ryan, Ray Healey, Peter Hall, and Karl Stockhausen participating. A competition to evaluate wine made from grapes grown in the Hunter Valley by Boutique Winemakers.
