We have been following the Barefoot Investor's Barefoot Kids Adventure and decided that we can raise ducks for food and eggs AND sell the excess to you!

We need your feedback!

The older Bourne Boy's school Enterprise subject assignment this term is to come up with a product or service, undertake market research, design a logo, establish a brand and 'test' it as a business at the School's market day showcase.

We think he has already done all of this with his lead on designing MQS!

Any and all feedback from you would be gratefully accepted as he prepares to submit this existing business for eligibility consideration.

All responses will be anonymised in data tables. You can also DM if you feel more comfortable.

Our ladies have naturally responded to the recent shortest daylight hours and colder temperatures with reduced egg laying (plus having 2 duck hens co-sitting and hatching for the last 35 days) - so, please be patient with supplies to our amazing retailers ( # & )

We will resupply as quickly as our free ranging pastured ducks let us!

The sneaky thing about Muscovy ducks is their ability to lay anywhere or hide eggs where you wouldn't expect - which makes everyday an Easter Egg Hunt Day!

Whilst not a world record, we feel for the duck that laid this egg.

Duck egg 121g vs Chook egg 61g. (Our duck eggs typically weigh between 70g and 90g.)

Fun fact: The heaviest duck egg ever recorded weighed 227 grams (8 ounces). It measured 14 cm in height with a 20 cm circumference, and was laid in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland. Amazingly, when the shell was broken, a perfectly formed second egg was found inside.

Always something to do. Retaining wall to keep the ducks off the slope to stop further slipping and erosion. Fun fact: Duck muckings from the duck house can go straight on to the garden as enriched mulch unlike fresh chook manure that needs to compost to prevent burning.
