🐑 And we’re off! Lambing season 2026 has officially begun at Parsons Paddock. 🤎

Our first little arrivals made their appearance today — twins! 🥹

There’s something pretty special about walking into the paddock and finding brand new little faces waiting for you. Mum has done an amazing job and both babies are up and finding their feet.

Welcome to the world, little ones. 🤎🐑

Yesterday was our annual sheep shelter sign painting day 🎨🐑

Sounds like a wholesome little farm tradition… and it was. Mostly. 😂

There may have been a little too much creative direction from Mum, a few “no, not like that” moments and some questionable spray-painting techniques… but we got there in the end 🤣

Now they’re drying for a day, ready for Liv to work her Sharpie magic and add all the finishing touches 🤎

And the timing couldn’t be better… because this week we should see our first little lambs hit the ground. 🥹🐑

Fresh signs, freshly bedded shelters and hopefully some fresh little faces very soon.

Tell me it’s nearly lambing season without telling me it’s nearly lambing season… 😂🐑

The “just in case” cupboard is officially stocked.

Colostrum, milk replacer, l**e, gloves, thermometer and all the other bits you hope you don’t need… but definitely don’t want to be without at 2am when a ewe decides she needs a helping hand 😅

Hopefully it all stays right where it is and the girls do the hard work themselves! 🤞🐑🤍

🐑 A big weekend of pre-lambing preparations at Parsons Paddock ✂️💉

This weekend was all about getting our mums-to-be ready for lambing.

✔️ Crutched to keep them clean and comfortable, reduce the risk of flystrike and make it easier for newborn lambs to find the teat.

✔️ Given their pre-lambing vaccination to help boost the antibodies they’ll pass on to their lambs through their colostrum, giving them the best possible start to life.

✔️ Feet trimmed to keep everyone comfortable and moving well as they get heavier in the final weeks of pregnancy.

These aren’t the glamorous jobs you usually see on social media, but they’re some of the most important. A lot of planning, preparation and preventative care goes into giving our ewes and their lambs the best chance of a healthy lambing season.

Now the girls are back out in the paddock, enjoying some lucerne hay and soaking up the winter sunshine while we begin the countdown.

Only a few more weeks until our paddocks are full of little bouncing Babydolls… and we can’t wait! 🤍🐑

Farm life is the best classroom 🤍

It teaches patience, resilience, responsibility and kindness in ways no textbook ever could.

Our kids have grown up bottle feeding lambs, feeding calves, cuddling animals, checking paddocks and learning that caring for animals is both a privilege and a responsibility.

They’ve celebrated new life, experienced heartbreak, gotten muddy, scratched and soaked, and learnt that the best things in life are worth working for.

❤️ At Parsons Paddock, we’re not just raising animals… we’re raising good humans.

The countdown is on… lambing season is almost here, and we can’t wait to share the pitter-patter of tiny hooves with you all 🐑🤍

Since losing one of our lambs recently, we’ve installed additional cameras around the property to help us keep a closer eye on what visits the farm after dark.

Over the past few weeks we’ve captured plenty of foxes and, finally, footage of the wild dogs that have been moving through the area.

While it’s confronting to see, it has helped confirm what we’re dealing with and allows us to put additional measures in place to protect the flock.

Farming definitely comes with its challenges, but every challenge teaches us something.
