It is your responsibility to keep a count of how many Visa days you have worked
What can I expect?
Each evening between 3pm and 5pm you will be sent a SMS with your team number and start time. It’s a very early start as all the grapes need to be picked before getting too hot, expect 5.30am starts!
Every morning you will meet your team at our Margaret River office, sign in and then leave for your vineyard with your supervisor.
You will be working outside in all weather conditions, rain or shine.
What will I need?
Food and water as most vineyards are not near shops so you will not be able to buy lunch.
In winter you will need full wet weather gear as you will be required to work in the rain (Hivis Jackets, Hivis Pants, Safety Gum boots or closed in shoes). In summer you will need full sun protection (hat, sunscreen, long sleeve shirt, long pants, closed in shoes or boots).
Do I need to buy tools?
You will need to hire tools from us as you will require a Vinepower vest and safety glasses and any tools that you will need to do the work (given to you on your first day).
These are hired out to you via our tool deposit system, some items are partially refundable.
Once your employment is over tools must be returned.
Do you provide Accommodation?
No, but there are many campsites, backpacker hostels and caravan parks in the area. It is illegal to camp in the bush in Margaret River, fines do apply.
How long will the work last?
Each season usually lasts for 3 months. Picking February - April. Pruning June - September. Canopy Management September - November. However these time frames are all weather dependent so can vary each year.
How many days will I be working?
In peak seasons you will be working 5 days per week (Monday - Friday). However, you are employed on a casual basis so some days you might not work. Saturdays (are optional during peak times).
Do I need a car?
No, we do car sharing! $7 a day return fee will be taken from your pay and given to the car driver.
What if I have a car?
Great, if you have spare seats in your car you will be paid extra $7 a day for each passenger you take to and from work. Just pick up a car sharing form from our office and get each passenger to sign it each day.
Each Friday or the following Monday at latest you will drop in the form so we can process it.
If we do not receive the form on Monday we will be unable to process the form!
So make sure you get it in.
What if I have a problem?

Can I work with my friends?
Yes. If you are travelling with a friend we try to keep you on the same teams. Just let us know who you are travelling with and we will do our best to keep you together.
