It’s really important to me where our eggs go. They are no ordinary egg, they are premium. These eggs are for those that really care about what they eat, wanting quality, more nutrition, to know where their food comes from and care about how the chickens are looked after.

We are proud of where our eggs are sold and the kitchens they are used in along with the households we deliver to. Thank you to everyone that supports what we do.

I am the heart behind Winterbrook, once a flower farmer and now a passionate egg and pig farmer with flowers on the side.

I moved onto this farm 3 years ago and decided I would love some chickens again. I started hatching heritage chickens and before I knew it I was addicted and had over 100 chickens and a whole lot of eggs.

We started selling the eggs to a beautiful local cafe and demand grew. I was passionate about building a little business with a focus on health, healthy loved animals, healthy eggs and healthy soil. January last year seen us stock our first 450 and things exploded, by December we had a second 450 caravan as well as our original home made blue mobile. Today we have around 1200 chickens.

It’s been a huge job, way more than I expected. 7 days a week, no rest, it’s certainly taking its toll. My love of animals and desire to give them best life possible means a lot more work than your typical farm, but I won’t have it any other way. I am a modern ethical farmer.

I am sitting at the gorgeous writing this and seeing my eggs on the menu and for sale and I feel proud and happy.

We can do anything we put our heart to ❤️

PRICE COMPARISON

I am not a backyard supplier of eggs, I am a licensed egg farmer. There is a huge difference. I am producing a nutrient dense healthy egg from hens feed a diet formulated by a nutritionist, it’s the best kind of egg you can eat.

Our chickens are moved weekly to ensure they are on fresh ground, not living on a dirt patch. We collect, clean, grade, pack and deliver all our own eggs. It’s a lot of work with high associated costs.

There is.no comparison, we can’t produce $5 eggs that’s for the so called free range (lives in a shed with access to a dirt patch) or people selling you their surplus eggs from their backyard.

I know most people don”t care about the health benefits, flavour, animal welfare and soil health, but I do and lots of other people do too. So if you want cheap scroll on and if you want quality we are here for you but please don’t compare there really is no comparison.

What you feed a chicken really matters. It affects the quality of the egg, the flavour, the health of the chicken and importantly the nutrients in the eggs.

We are all about quality and ensuring our eggs are full of flavour with the highest nutrients you can get from an egg.

Yes this comes at a cost. We are in regular discussions with a nutritionist to ensure our feed is meeting the chickens needs and we are getting the desired results. We source the best feed we can and never compromise.

So I did it, I managed to raise a full caravan of chickens. We moved our Pullets on Saturday night into the caravan and out into the paddock. It was a big job but they are calm and happy. They are hopping back in the caravan each night which is a huge plus. I have perch trained them so I will say this has been the best result so far.

Raising them from chicks isn’t easy, especially this number, keeping the temperature right and their bedding dry and clean along with constant midnight trips out to check in the first few weeks wears you down and doing this along with everything else I have to do was a challenge, but we got there.
