Meeting someone new can feel like a BIG deal for little ones ( and for the parents!)

I think the most important thing is not rushing it. Building trust takes time, and every child is different.

I like to keep things calm, fun and relaxed, giving them the space to warm up in their own time. Whether that’s through play, chatting, getting creative or simply joining in with something they already love.

My goal is always for children to feel safe, comfortable and completely themselves around me.

Every visit is packed with opportunities to learn. We chat about habitats, what different animals eat, where they come from, the sounds they make, and why it’s important to look after our environment. Along the way there’s plenty of walking, problem-solving, asking questions, and letting little imaginations run wild.

The best kind of learning is the kind that doesn’t feel like learning at all.

Today we kept it simple with Duplo trains, and honestly… they were a hit!

What looks like “just playing” is actually helping build problem-solving skills, creativity, fine motor skills, patience, and imagination. Plus, it’s a great excuse for me to join in too!

Who needs cartoons when you’ve got Dog TV?

Sometimes the best entertainment doesn’t cost a thing. A curious little one watching the dogs through the screen door is a wonderful way to encourage observation, language development and curiosity about the world around them.

While these moments are incredibly sweet, they’re also a great reminder that babies and dogs should always be introduced safely. Teaching children to observe calmly, respect a dog’s space and always interact under close adult supervision helps build positive relationships and safe habits from the very beginning.

Sometimes the simplest moments really do become the best learning opportunities.
