Sashimi with a side of dry ice, prawn toast magicked into Chinese doughnuts, roasted soy and yuzu caramel; Yugen Dining is setting the bar high for modern Asian dining in Melbourne.

This subterranean masterpiece unfolds in three parts: a bar, dining room and private dining space; a six-seater omakase; and a golden orb suspended from the ceiling that seats another six-to-ten, all backdropped by a six-metre tall bar and some exquisite chandelier work.

With two hats under its belt, the opening menu for Yugen is both ambitious and extravagant. If you’re looking for the inside scoop on what to order at this new Chapel Street spot, hit the link.

Make the most of mango season with this light, tangy and refreshing buttermilk mango lassi!

This smoothie-like drink is brought to life with the sweetness of ripe mango, honey, cardamom, and our market’s own Gippsland Jersey’s Buttermilk.

While the drink originated in India, it is enjoyed all over the world now and is perfect to accompany breakfast, as a snack, or to cool down your mouth after a hot curry!

Our buttermilk is an excellent source of protein and aids your gut health thanks to the live cultures added during fermentation (similar to those in yoghurt). This is why lassis are often offered to accompany spicy rich meals – they aid in digestion!

Buttermilk also has the added perks of being low in fat and rich in vitamin B12, riboflavin, calcium and phosphorus.

Try it out at this weekend’s market! 😉
