I paid $120 on eBay to buy back a piece of my childhood and honestly, the 90s nostalgia hit was worth every cent.

There’s something about finding the 90s toys you grew up with that unlocks memories you didn’t even know were still in there.

Please tell me I’m not the only millennial now using adult money to buy back their childhood.

My child was a very welcomed surprise, and I love being a mum. What I wasn’t prepared for was everything that unfolded afterwards.

We talk about becoming a mum and motherhood like it’s all unconditional love, beautiful birth stories, supportive partners and a village rallying around you. And for some women, that genuinely is their experience. But it isn’t everyone’s.

Sometimes relationships end. Villages aren’t there. Your child barely sleeps and neither do you. You find yourself solo parenting a life you never imagined doing alone — while still loving your child more than anything.

As a solo mum, this isn’t me telling women not to have children. It’s the opposite. I think women considering motherhood deserve honest conversations about what becoming a parent can actually look like, without that honesty being mistaken for regretting your child.

It’s okay to want children. It’s okay not to want them. And it’s okay to want them, but not feel certain enough to have them.

Motherhood can be beautiful. But women deserve the whole conversation before deciding whether becoming a mum is the life they want. 🤍

Being a solo mum, single mum or single parent does NOT mean you’re raising your child in a broken home.

Solo motherhood might look different to the family you once imagined, but different doesn’t mean broken.

There is love here. There is safety here. There is a family here. 🤍

So to every solo mum carrying the mental load, doing the parenting, building a home and wondering if she’s doing enough…

You’re doing a beautiful job, Mum. 🤍

Mums of toddlers… why did nobody tell me these strawberries existed?! 🍓🤯

I found these pearl strawberries and obviously had to try them — but my first thought was… could this be the ultimate less-mess toddler snack?! 😂

If your toddler somehow manages to turn one strawberry into red stains on their clothes, hands, face, highchair AND your furniture… you’ll understand why I’m invested. 😅

They’re pale/clear inside, naturally sweet and definitely one of the more interesting toddler snack ideas I’ve come across.

Would your toddler eat a white strawberry?! 🍓🤍

🇦🇺 CENSUS 2026 — what you actually need to know

The Census is happening Tuesday 11 August 2026, and yes — it’s compulsory. ADHD parents, set a reminder - now!

Basically:

👉 Everyone who is in Australia on Census night needs to be included on a Census form.

👉 The information collected helps work out where Australia needs things like schools, healthcare, roads, transport, community services and infrastructure.

👉 If you forget or don’t complete it, you won’t automatically be fined. You’ll be contacted first and encouraged to complete it.

👉 If you continue not to complete it, you can be given a formal written direction requiring you to do so.

👉 Ignoring that formal direction can lead to prosecution and fines of up to $364 per day.

👉 Deliberately giving false or misleading information can also result in a fine of up to $3,640.

So, in mum terms: put “Census” on tomorrow’s mental-load list. 😂

Every household counts, and the information helps governments understand what Australian families and communities actually need. 🇦🇺🤍
