The first image is a cafe breakfast dish of mashed eggs on crumpets with a side of bacon that cost $40 with a can of coke from Dromana.
Little to no butter on the crumpets, overpowering herb mushrooms shredded spring onions. For me it just didn’t work and so over priced. Another Cafe over doing basic ingredients and getting it wrong. 3.4/10

The 2nd and 3rd are of an $18 Pork Sunday roast from Chirnside Country Club.
Yes fair enough no Yorkshire pudding but in my humble opinion a pretty good effort. Decent flavoured gravy, nice fresh veg, juicy pork slices. Subtle and delicate apple sauce. Really well balanced and put together.
Such good value. 7.9/10

I excitedly Went to Northern Soul Chip Shop for the first time last night.
Eager for some memories of home, some fresh hand cut “proper” chips and all in all some decent take away food.

We arrived after 6 and the signs were good with the seemingly eager patrons lined up out the door and onto the street. Although it was a Saturday night it didn’t seem rammed but steadily busy and nicely none stop.

After waiting a good 20mins (being very generous) on the largely temperature dropping yet sunny St Kilda evening I managed to place my order.
A Wigan Casino being a fish & chips with a choice of side, opting for curry sauce over gravy, mushy peas.
I asked for the “free” extra batter scraps salt n vinegar and a buttered barm.
I also ordered a battered sausage to see what it was like and a can of pop! I paid noticing a small surcharge on the tapping square and was told 25/30min wait…. Back into the brisk weather outside.
