At Okkeira, we make junmai — the purest form of sake.

Sake is having a quiet revolution.
📈 Exports have doubled in the last five years.
Chefs respect it. Creatives drink it.
More people are discovering its delicacy and depth - and its drinkability.

But we didn’t want to just import that moment.
We wanted to be part of it.

So we started brewing.
Right here in Melbourne. 🇦🇺
With Australian-grown rice.

We’re Okkeira Shuzo — a sake brewery with a curious spirit.
Named for a cattle dog called Keira, who knew what was good.

Welcome to Okkeira Shuzo 🍶🐾 - a sake brewery (shuzo) in Melbourne, making craft sake with heart, history, and a bit of mischief.

This brand was inspired by Keira, a quirky cattle dog who didn’t like beer... but loved sake.

Her nose wrinkled at hops - but she’d 100% try to sneak a lick of the sake bottle if she had a chance.

We make our pure junmai sake the traditional way: from rice, water, koji, and time.
But we’re not here to copy tradition. We’re here to carry it forward - in our own way.
