The Beefies are Back!
After a long absence, beef cattle made a brief return to the Yankalilla Show in 2024 — and this year they are well and truly back.

A huge thank you to Beef Cattle convenor, Lisa Hosking, who has done a wonderful job mustering support for this section and helping bring it back strongly for the 2026 Show.

A cold, misty morning today brought with it the beginning of calving for 2026 for us. We have two due now and the rest will follow in a few weeks time, for spring calving.
First thing this morning we were presented with a beautiful bull calf by JD Lann Bonafide 119N out of our T cow Terrorosa.
Looking forward to seeing this fella unfold and grow!

Tough day getting pampered for this fella today. Wild Thing absolutely not living up to his name, dozing off while getting brushed. Show bull life seems to be right up his alley!

A frosty start to the day in the yards this morning, with Miss Vixen V02, who is by Red Wheel Stark, being AI'd.
Thanks to Mike from ET Services of SA for popping out to do this heifer for us. It is greatly appreciated that he is happy to come out and do our smaller numbers for us.
Fingers crossed for a positive result and cracking calf by Bieber Spartan in Autumn next year!
Now, off to the office job.......

Out into a fresh paddock for the girls today. The count down is on for our first calves to hit the ground for 2026.
I am excited to see what we produce this year, with all bar one of our girls in calf to Red Wheel Stark. Our Allira Park Miss Vixen V02 is by Red Wheel Stark and she is maturing into a cracking heifer, who we are looking forward to showing again at this years Adelaide Royal.
