As you may have noticed we have been a little bit quieter on the cattle front, with the end of our show season. We have been busy getting ready for our first AI round which is happening next week, but we have also been taking some time to process some absolutely gutting news as well.

Heartbreakingly, on the Monday public holiday after Yankalilla show, we lost our big fella Allira Park Wild Thing W04, to a snake bite.

We are devastated by his loss. Apart from being such a beautiful example of the Red Angus breed, he was a big goof that had stolen our hearts as well. Watching him grow from a calf to the multi Champion young bull that he was, and then losing him so abruptly, has been hard to process. We had so many plans and dreams for him, but alas - they are not to be.

We spent a great 2 days out at Roseworthy for the Angus Australia SA Beef Cattle Assessment Course on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
What a fantastic event it was. The knowledge that we gained was second to none, and it was brilliant to spend the time being able to brush up on some skills and learn brand new ones from industry experts. The conversations that we had with like minded peers was also so refreshing.
We are looking forward to implementing what we have learnt at home. Excited to see what we can do and where we can go with our new goals.
A huge thankyou to all of the presentors, educators and the organising team. It was a brilliant event and we highly reccomend people attend one!!

⭐️⭐️ Yankalilla Show 2026 ⭐️⭐️

Well, it was a cool, wet day at Yankalilla - but what a great day it was to see the return of Beef Cattle to the show! After a few years with no beef cattle, it was great to see so many exhibitors come out to support their return.

It was a different and busy day for Aston and I, as it was our first year both convening the section, and competing, but what a fantastic day we had.

Thankyou to our Judge Josh Wiltshire for taking the time to come down south in some not so great weather to adjudicate for us! Your time and comments on the cattle are very much appreciated.

And a huge thankyou to Sares N Vaughan and Keira for their help throughout the day, both with our cattle and with keeping the ring running smoothly - we appreciate you and your willingness to just jump in and help so much!!

⭐️⭐️ Murray Bridge Show 2026 ⭐️⭐️

We had a great day out at Murray Bridge yesterday. A successful day in the ring, and a great relaxed atmosphere at the show.

Thankyou to the judge for his comments on our cattle. It was great to hear the positive comments that again confirmed we are on the right track with our breeding program!
It was a great moment for us as a small breeder to have both of our Junior cattle contending the Supreme Beef exhibit, and coming out on top, against some very nice senior cattle.

Thankyou to all the organisers and sponsors for the beef cattle section yesterday, we look forward to supporting the show again next year!

Things are really starting to come together in the new beef cattle area at the Yankalilla Show grounds is starting to come together! The brand new tie up rails have been installed and are looking good- will be great to see all the cattle stalled there in a couple of weeks time!

🐂 Yankalilla Show Beef Cattle – Entries Now Open!

With the Adelaide Show now a week behind us, it’s a great time to get your Yankalilla Show entries in!

Lisa and I are really looking forward to putting on a great event, with some fantastic sponsor support already lined up. We’re also excited to announce that Josh Wiltshire will be our judge for the day, and we’re confident he’ll do a great job.

📋 A quick note for exhibitors:
Due to the new beef cattle setup and separation requirements for this year, we ask that all stock be transported by trailer, as a truck loading ramp is not available for our use. We’re hoping to have this resolved for the 2027 show.

We’ve already received some great entries and would love to see plenty more of you get involved!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact:

📞 Lisa: 0429 099 221
📞 Aston: 0439 496 026

We’re looking forward to seeing you all at Yankalilla Show! 🐂
