EDIT: Well I've got a little hiccup in my plan......I cannot see all of the peoples names who have shared this post. I'm really sorry, I thought I had it covered.....perhaps if you comment on the post instead, at least I can keep a track of you that way. I'll keep the competition open a bit longer to hopefully catch the original people who entered....

Every year on the first weekend in May, thousands (approx 5000 this year) of school children converge on a paddock in OB Flat for a weekend of major concerts, national school competitions and performances from emerging and established Jazz artists. It's a big deal, and it's quite a sight to behold.

If you would like a chance to score yourself a Festival Pass for the 3 day event, valued at $250, all you have to do is make sure you've liked and follow our Spiral Spudz page, and share this post. Thats it!

Competition is open for 24hours and entries close at 10pm Thursday 30/4/2026.

Wow! What a day spiral lovers. Thank you for an incredible day at the Mount Gambier Aviation Museum. We were blown away with the support you showed to us today, and we were clearly under prepared for the shear number of people that kept lining up. We never got to step out and have a look around, but we’ve seen some photos and it looked like a fabulous family day out.
It’s important to us that we try to serve a perfect spiral each time, and I know today that we didn’t always do that. Sometimes potatoes just don’t come in the ‘perfect’ shape, and sometimes they contain a lot of moisture and they just don’t want to crisp up, or you turn your back on them for 15secs too long and then they are too brown. Sometimes they break while being cooked, so we need to put another one into the fryer in its place.
There’s quite an art to cooking the humble spud we are discovering.
Thank you for your patience today. Thank you for waiting, and thank you for being kind to our young staff.

A first for the Spiralz gang - tomorrow we are off to the Mundulla Show.
We are in for another long day, but worth it when you get to see the kids faces light up when they grab their spiral. Remember ALL of our salts and seasonings are Gluten free, so a perfect tasty treat for everyone. The weather is looking fabulous, so should be a great day!

Spuds spuds spuds! We’ve got waaaaaayy too many small spuds, and we are selling them for $2 a kg. Tomorrow you will find us at the Allendale School for the market, and we will have 5kg and 10kg bags of spuds ready to go. Feel free to let your family and friends know!

Mount Gambier fans - the Spiralz truck is setup down inside the Valley Lakes picnic area next to the big lawn area…..looks like we’ve inadvertently gate crashed someone’s birthday party, but we are definitely serving to the public! We’ll be here for a couple of hours, or until it gets quieter….

To our loyal followers - we regret to say that we will not be able to attend the Borderline Speedway tonight. Our delivery of potatoes, whilst they are perfect on the outside, and are totally fine for home use, are not suitable for our purpose. They have way too much moisture/sugar in them. There is no way I am going to knowingly sell an inferior product. I certainly would not be happy if I was purchasing a spiral from our current batch of potatoes. We want everyone who purchases one of our tasty spirals to have an awesome experience, and I'm sorry that we cannot be there to support the Borderline tonight, but this is totally out of our control. We tried a plan B this morning, but even those potatoes unfortunately have turned out to be not suitable.
If we can source tickets to attend, the family will go and have a night off with a night out.
Fingers crossed we can get something suitable organised for New Years Eve - watch this space!
