If you know someone who likes to pull up and help themselves to product from someoneās farm, maybe let them know this:
*It is stealing. It may only be a few cobs of corn or a couple of pumpkins, but if multiple people do this, it adds up at harvest time.
*If morals alone isnāt enough to stop people helping themselves, you should also be aware that not all product is grown for human consumption. While the corn on the side of the road may look great, it isnāt all sweet corn and definitely will not cook up very nice.
*But the main reason we wouldnāt recommend taking product is most farmers spray crops with some form of chemical. While we are not interested in getting into a debate about the use of chemicals, a lot of people wouldnāt know that there can be withholding periods after product has been sprayed before it can be harvested or consumed.
So if you take produce that has been recently sprayed to either feed yourself or animals and you consume it before the required withholding period has passed, you are risking the health of you and your animals. š¤
Hopefully the people who acquired the corn today see this post and dispose of it before consumption.
