Saraid's right horn was damaged when she was about four months old. The last 30mm came off, possibly through head butting another animal. As time goes by, it is growing through just fine.

Her breeder, Glen Hastie at Bairnsley Highland Cattle assures it will even up. He tells us both her sire and dam lines have good strong horns, and he has other animals where the same thing happened, and their horns are now practically symmetrical.

Donnachaidh of Cruachan (11051) at 18 months of age. Such a well-bred, well-mannered steer. Standing here beautifully, as if to show off his assets (someone really should tell him there's nothing there!).

He is so calm and steady - we can see why Highland steers are recommended for people who can only accommodate a couple of animals. As we grow our fold, we are looking for more FIB females, but Donny is a welcome member of the team.
