A wise man once told me, "theres two types of stock, livestock and deadstock". I get the bluntness, but sadly the herd here are extensions of the family.

Sadly had to put down our original girl Mocha, had here almost 13 years but sadly illness neccisitated her to be sedated and put down.

For anyone that says cows or other farm animals are dumb, clearly has no idea. Mochas friends stayed near her the whole time, belowing and urging her to come with them. A mooving vigil. (Pilun intended for light humor).

Her bestie Daisy usually the calmest and easiest cow was clearly distraught, barreling around the paddock like a tantrum.

Very somber and moving behaviours to observe.

Trying to attempt chipping thistles in a paddock where the lambs are maybe just a bit too nosey.

But dogs, lambs and even chooks will have to co-exist while our poddy girls get a bit of green grass before this all dries off too.

These last seasons lambs are the quietest we have ever had. Eira is trying to work out why they aren't scared of her.
Note: we are out in the paddock, not in a yard. They just followed us up as they always do hoping that they could come too.
