What an incredible three days! Our Boys to the Bush team has officially wrapped up the 500km Ride to Give, and we’re so proud of everything they achieved on and off the road.

Thanks to everyone who donated and cheered us on, an impressive $700,000 was raised across the entire event, all going toward supporting young people across regional Australia.

A huge thank you to FDC Building for creating Ride to Give and continuing to lead with generosity. And a big shout‑out to our fellow charity partner BackTrack Youth Works, it’s an honour to ride alongside you.

Thank you to everyone who backed the journey. This year’s ride may be over, but the impact is just getting started.

We’ve had another great month of community engagement, honestly, we’ve been popping up all over the place! From early‑morning BBQs to sunny days out on the golf course, it’s been awesome connecting with locals, sharing what we do, and being part of events that genuinely make a difference. Here are just a couple of the moments:

We joined the Emergency Services Charity Golf Day at the Young Golf Course, organised by the legends Aaron Maloney (NSW Ambulance) and Ryan Terry (NSW Fire Brigade). They donate the proceeds to us every year (how good!), and it was another great day filled with community spirit.

We also teamed up with Forbes Livestock Agency for a local clearing sale, where our Forbes Boys to the Bush crew ran the BBQ. It was a cracking day of meeting locals, having a yarn, and chatting about what we’re all about.

A massive thanks to everyone who stopped by, supported us, or simply shared a smile.

Partnership for us comes in many shapes and sizes. Whether you’re looking to support us by providing a space for onsite rural experiences like Richard, donations or attending our events, you’ll be helping us connect even more disconnected boys back into their community.

Richard has been a key ambassador for our programs, providing experiences on his dairy farm that as you’ll see, create real impact on so many levels.

If this is something you’d like to be a part of, like Richard says, ‘don’t hesitate’, just reach out to our team here https://boystothebush.org.au/contact/

Another great example of boys reconnecting with their communities.

When local organisations and partners generously open their doors to our MENtors and participants, it means more opportunities for boys to become good young men.

WORKING TOGETHER FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE

Last week, members from Benalla Police were proud to welcome the team from Boys To The Bush for a visit and guided tour of the Benalla Police Station.

Boys to the Bush is a community-based charity, focused on early intervention and preventative strategies for disengaged young males. They deliver programs that support young people to grow into strong, capable men.

We were pleased to welcome three young participants and three dedicated MENtors for an extensive tour of the station, including the cells, interview rooms and fingerprint area. The group was highly engaged, asked thoughtful and impressive questions, and showed genuine curiosity about policing processes.

Opportunities like this are invaluable in rural communities. They help build positive relationships, break down barriers and create understanding — all while sharing a few laughs and plenty of good banter along the way.

We sincerely appreciate the Boys to the Bush team for taking the time to visit and for the important work they continue to do in supporting local youth.

Thanks boys - we’re looking forward to you taking us out for a fish and showing us how it’s done!

Andrew Robertson, former copper and Boys to the Bush Albury location manager, is gearing up for a 500km charity bike ride to challenge himself and lead by example.
He will be joined by our Head of Operations, Scott McIntyre for the FDC Ride to Give in March.

Robertson, or Robbo as he's known by many, had a chat with the local newspaper about his bike training and his biggest fear — lycra!
